HOW MONEYWORKS LITE WORKS
How MoneyWorks Lite works
MoneyWorks Lite uses a few names of its own. Here is what each one means — in plain words, the way it works in the app.
In short
- MoneyWorks Lite is an income-first money app for freelancers and self-employed people on iPhone and Android, published by BRANDWORKSAPP LLC.
- Its core number is rolling 30-day income — the total of the latest 30 days, recalculated every day.
- The terms below (income pace, profiles, Pay Yourself, MoneyWorks Pulse and others) are MoneyWorks Lite feature names.
Terms
- Income-first
- The MoneyWorks Lite approach: the app leads with income — how much is arriving, from which sources and how steady it is — instead of expense categories and calendar-month budgets. Expenses are still recorded.
- Rolling 30-day income
- The total income of the latest 30 days, recalculated every day. Today enters the window and the oldest day leaves it, so the number never resets on the 1st of the month. Read more →
- Income pace (Income velocity)
- The average income earned per day, plus an annualized projection of what a year would bring if that pace continued.
- Goal timeline (Goal projection)
- An estimate of the period or date when you reach your next income goal at your current pace.
- Year forecast
- Your income line for the year with a forecast to December at your current pace. Projections are estimates, not guarantees.
- Income and balance capsules
- The two capsules at the top of the home screen. They update instantly when you log income in two taps — pick the client, type the amount.
- Profile
- A separate space for personal, business, shared, rental or project money, with its own balance, transactions, history, statistics and base currency. Read more →
- Currency per profile
- Each profile can use its own currency, so a business paid in dollars and personal money in another currency stay separate.
- Pay Yourself (Pay Salary)
- One action that records a salary or owner payment as an expense in a business profile and matching income in the personal profile. In the app the button is called Pay Salary. Read more →
- Income sources
- Income split by client and project. It shows who really pays you and flags over-reliance on one client.
- MoneyWorks Pulse
- One short money lesson card a day. Tapping “Got it” marks the day, grows your streak and fills a square on the year grid.
- Year grid
- A grid of every day of the year; each day you complete the Pulse card fills one square.
- Subscriptions
- Subscription tracking: renewal dates on the calendar, a reminder the day before a charge, and subscriptions grouped in statistics.
- Widgets
- iPhone and Android home-screen widgets for income, balance and upcoming payments.
- Think like a CFO
- The MoneyWorks Lite idea that people who earn on their own should manage earning like a chief financial officer — direction, sources, pace — rather than only track spending like an accountant.
